Award Certificates and Transcripts
In May 2026, the University launched a ‘Digital First’ solution for student Award Certificates and Transcripts.
This new initiative delivers electronic versions of award certificates and transcripts through a secure portal.
Within this portal, students and alumni* can:
- View electronic versions of award certificates and related documents.
- Share documents with third parties such as employers or agencies.
- Manage who has access to documents.
- Order certified printed copies of transcripts and certificates
- Report any issues.
Both electronic and physical copies of certificates also carry a secure QR code that can be scanned to verify authenticity.
The move to a digital first solution introduces many benefits, including:
✔ Improved student experience
- Quicker turnaround times in delivering award certificates and transcripts
- 24/7 access once documents are published
- Ability to self-serve
- Fast and simple verification of award when sharing with third parties such as employers or University admissions teams
✔ Reduced carbon foot-print
- Printing and delivering physical copies on demand only
*I'm an alumni student, when will I be able to access the portal?
Students awarded on or after 10 December 2025
If you were awarded on or after 10 December 2025, your award certificate and transcript are available digitally via the Student Certificate Portal.
You should have already received an email inviting you to register and create a login account.
Alternatively, please visit to register and/or log in.
Students awarded on or before 9 December 2025
If you were awarded on or before 9 December 2025 you should have already received a physical copy of your certificate and transcript via the post.
The Student Certificate Portal will also soon be accessible to recipients awarded on or before 9 December 2025. You will receive an email once your digital documents have been published, inviting you to register and create a login account.
How do I access the ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ digital certificates portal?
We aim to publish your digital documents within 4 weeks of your award being confirmed by the board of examiners. Once published, you will automatically receive an email inviting you to register and create an account to login.
In the interim, you will receive a results letter within a few days of the exam board, detailing your result and award.
A link to the portal can also be found below, however you are advised not to register until you have had an email confirming your digital documents have been published.
How much does access to the digital certificates portal cost?
The digital certificates portal is free to access for the first 3 months following the date your award is conferred. During this period you can take advantage of the digital services available as well as order a free of charge first printed copy of your award certificate (postage fees apply). Please note, once you have received a free copy of your award certificate, any replacement certificates thereafter carry a charge (please see ‘Replacement Certificates’ section below).
Your university transcript supplements your award certificate by providing a breakdown of the modules you studied and the marks and credits you achieved.
´¡â€¯physical copy of your official transcript, printed on watermarked paper, can be ordered through the Student Certificate Portal for a fee of £5.00 plus postage (ordering your certificate and transcript together will only result in one postage fee being applied)
Once your 3-month free access period to the portal expires, you can optionally pay a one-time £15 fee for lifetime access, to continue to access the digital services available.
Please Note: you are advised to access the portal to view/order any required physical copies of your documents as soon as possible following receipt of your certificate portal invitation email.

How long do orders via the digital certificates portal take to arrive?
Orders are usually printed as part of a monthly print run on the 3rd of each month, although additional print runs may take place during busy periods.
The timeline below shows the typical process from ordering to delivery. Please note that all timescales are estimates and may vary depending on demand, destination, and the delivery method selected.

Replacement Certificates
Replacement Certificate Regulatory Information
The certificate the University issues is proof of the conferment of your award and is a unique and valuable document. Under no circumstances will the University issue additional or duplicate copies of your certificate if you still have the original certificate within your possession. Replacement certificates can only be issued if your original certificate has been lost or damaged, and the University reserves the right not to issue a duplicate nor specify the reasons for its decision. Replacement certificates are issued in what was your official name at the time of study.
The University is only able to issue replacement certificates for awards made by the University from 1993 onwards. Awards before this date were made by the Council for National Academic Awards (CNAA), and the Open University is now responsible for these records. Further information can be found on the of the Open University.
Students awarded on or after 10 December 2025
For students awarded on or after 10 December 2025, replacement certificates can be ordered and paid for online through our the digital certificates portal for a fee of £30.00 plus postage.
Students awarded on or before 9 December 2025
For students awarded on or before 9 December 2025 replacement certificates must currently be requested through the request form below.
Please complete the request form and ensure that you have attached a copy of your proof of identity (e.g. passport, driving licence).
If you have changed your name since you were enrolled at the University, please also provide proof of your name change, such as your marriage certificate or a change of name deed.
The Student Certificate Portal will soon be accessible to recipients awarded prior to 9 December 2025. Alumni will receive notifications as their access is granted, along with a link to help and guidance at that time.
Transcripts with Specific Requirements
If you wish to order a transcript with specific requirements, such as with a stamp or sealed in a signed envelope, please either:
- Log in to OneUni and submit a Student Support Letter Request via the Support section of your account, or
- If you no longer have access to OneUni, please complete the request form.
Most requests are processed within two weeks.
For courses completed before 2000, processing may take up to four weeks.
Please Note:
If you studied prior to 2000, it may not be possible to produce a full transcript as transcripts were not produced by the University as a matter of course.
We cannot guarantee the completeness of records for students who studied at the University prior to 2000, or at one of our partner institutions, due to system changes and institution mergers.

A Confirmation of Award letter can also be requested to confirm the dates you attended your university programme and the award you achieved.
How to Apply:
- Log in to OneUni and submit a Student Support Letter Request via the Support section of your account, or
- If you no longer have access to OneUni, please complete the Confirmation of Award Letter request form.
Certificate of Education - Honorary Degree Awards
All students awarded a Certificate in Education prior to 1980 can now request an Honorary Degree: Bachelor of Education 'Honoris Causa'. This honorary degree recognises the academic work undertaken to achieve the Certificate in Education.
Unfortunately, the University no longer has complete records for awards made prior to 1980, and therefore any student wishing be awarded the honorary degree will need to complete the form below and send proof of their qualification, such as a copy of their certificate, transcript, or confirmation of award letter.
Please note it may take between 4-6 weeks to process an application and issue a certificate to those who are eligible.
