Entry Requirements

Meeting the Requirements

Before you apply, it is important that you carefully check the academic, English language, and age requirements you will need to meet. This page contains information regarding the general requirements you must meet before starting your studies as well as country-specific ones.

General Entry Requirements (Academic)

International Year One Pre-Master's
Good high school graduation grades or equivalent academic study (see country specific entry requirements below) 

A recognised undergraduate degree (Other qualifications will be considered, please check individual country requirements below)
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths with a minimum grade of 4 or C.

*For student progressing to MSc Accounting and Finance: GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths with a minimum grade of 4 or C.

IELTS 5.5 (with 5.5 across all four skills)   IELTS 6.0 
CAS/visa for the full length of your chosen degree (approximately 3 years)   CAS/visa for the full length of the Pre-Master's and your Master’s degree.

 

English Language Requirements

The tables below display the preparation programmes students are required to undertake depending on their current IELTS scores before they can commence on the Pre-Master's programmes. For on-campus pre-sessional programmes, please note you will need IELTS UKVI or another SELT test.

Pre-Master's

5.0 (Minimum of 4.5 in each skill area) 5.5 (Minimum of 5.0 in each skill area) 6.0 (Minimum of 5.5 in each skill area)
10-week PEASS* course in the summer, then the Pre-Master's from September.  5-week PEASS* course in the summer, then the Pre-Master's from September.  Pre-Master's from September.
 

*PEASS is short for Pre-sessional English and Academic Study Skills.

  • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Hons) 50% overall
China

Pre-Master's

  • Full-time studies Bachelor's degree: 60% overall
  • Full-time studies Undergraduate Graduation Certificate/Full time studies Junior College Diploma (1 semester/term internship accepted only): 60% overall
  • Higher National Diploma: 60% overall in numerically marked modules with no less than 60% of grades at distinction
Egypt

Pre-Master's

  • Recognised first degree with GPA of 2.0
Ghana

Pre-Master's

  • Recognised first degree or HND
India

Pre-Master's

  • Recognised three or four year undergraduate degree
Indonesia

Pre-Master's

  • No country specific entry requirement at this time
Iran

Pre-Master's

  • Successful completion of License/Karashansi degree with grade 10/pass
Japan

  • Recognised first degree with 50%, Associate Degree, or 3-year JCD with 60% in a related subject area

  • Recognised first degree - 60%, grade D, GPA 1.0
Sri Lanka

Pre-Master's

  • Bachelor General or Special or Honours with Third Class or equivalent.
Thailand

Pre-Master's

  • Recognised Bachelor degree, Higher Diploma of Technical or Vocational Education
Turkey

Pre-Master's

  • Recognised first degree (Lisans Diplomasi or Muhendis Diplomasi) GPA 2.0.
United Arab Emirates

Pre-Master's

  • Recognised first degree or equivalent - GPA2.0/4.0 or 2.5/5.0
